Choose a Van That Fits Your Working Day

Measure the bulkiest thing you regularly carry and check how it goes through the doors before choosing a van by appearance or monthly price.

Try your normal working setup

At the viewing, check loading height, door access and where the everyday kit would go. Can you reach it without unloading half the van? Check the places you normally park too.

Check payload after fitting it out

Allow for racking, tools, normal stock, passengers and materials or waste collected on a job. The actual vehicle and axle limits still apply. Secure the load and keep safe access to it.

Ask for the full cost

Put insurance, fuel, servicing, tyres and any applicable clean-air charges beside the purchase or monthly payment. For a used van, check history and condition; arrange an independent inspection if needed.

For finance or hire, ask for the total payable, deposit, mileage limit and exit charges. Check tax treatment with your accountant before choosing the funding route.

Take a useful photo before leaving

Photograph the load area and note the measurements and quoted terms on your phone. That gives you something concrete to compare at the next viewing.
